Trip Overview
Days 1-2:

Meet your leaders and fellow  group members in Wanaka or at Queenstown Airport.

Upon arriving, orient yourself to the area, and get to know your fellow travellers at your Wanaka base lodge.

After you awaken to a delicious breakfast enjoying the stunning Lake Wanaka views, your group will join the expert team at Wildwire Wanaka for some team building activities and deepen your connection to your group, and to your adventure.

DAYS 3-5:

After a few days of fun adventure forming your community, its time to help with some planting initiatives that help the wider community. You join the awesome folks at Te Kakano to learn about local ecology, and its native tree planting program. After collecting some native trees to plant, its time for a boat trip on the lake and your Mou Waho Island nature tour with the award winning ECO Wanaka Adventures. Mou Waho is predator free and your naturalist guides help you to learn about our stunning NZ natural history in a hands on and engaging way.

You also get to enjoy beachside BBQ’s, skipping stones and throwing the frisbee with new friends, and some fantastic local swimming holes

DAYS 6-7:

What better place to learn to sail than stunning Lake Wanaka. The group will join the instructors at the Wanaka Yacht Club for a tailored sailing lesson and activity that will get the group out on the lake and sailing off into the sunset.

In teams, working together you get to try your hand at problem solving such as raft building and escaping from the island on the lake where you are stranded (and much more.)  The winning team gets bragging rights and ice cream…

DAYS 8-10:

A multi-day experience in Mt Aspiring national park will see you spending two nights in backcountry huts/tents, in some of the worlds most spectacular scenery. Naturalist guides will point out the fascinating  geology of the area, while a visit to a glacial lake complete with floating icebergs will cool you down if you're brave enough for a dip.

You learn hands on about the work of local volunteer groups protecting our wilderness and birdlife and supporting the mission of predator free New Zealand.

Throughout the programme the ritual of a nightly circle, is one of the most special parts of an adventure with Perspective. You debrief the day, tell stories, or simply ask each other whatever you want — it’s incredible how close you can become when you simply take the time to sit together and talk.  Doing this in the setting of Mt Aspiring National Park  with the sounds of the keas calling, running streams, and the calving of glaciers in the background makes it even more special.

DAYS 11-12:

The group will join the expert guides at Paddle Wanaka will teach you the skills required to get you safely paddle boarding and kayaking, while showing you the sweet secret spots, sharing some local tales, and having a good old yarn along the way.

You spend your last night in this mountain paradise reliving and recounting the adventures you’ve had together at a final night beach bonfire. Prepare yourselves for the travel day home, and savor the friendships and memories you’ve made. After saying goodbye you can head home to your family and friends having proven to yourself that you have everything you need to face the future, and thrive in whatever situation it throws at you.
